Cycling is a fantastic way to stay fit either as a pure cyclist or as a triathlete. Our cycling clientele range from fitness enthusiasts to bike racers to triathletes. Our goal with each practice is to provide knowledge and guidance so that when you are out on the roads you have confidence and feel fit. We offer a variety of options for those who want to commit to PBC, which we consider our semester course, to those who want to drop-in on occasion to get the highest quality coaching experience in a group setting possible. 


PERFORMANCE BASED CYCLING PRACTICES

SBR's popular Performance Based Cycling class is hitting the roads for the summer! We are offering a once per week class that provides you with outdoor cycling skills, technique, efficiency, training consistency, hill climbing, flat road racing, drafting and more!  We will be out on the road for 18 weeks this season.

Twice per week, join us for a structured and coached cycling workout that will ensure you are training properly and effectively. Monday PM practices will be mostly held outside in a formal coached practice setting. Thursday AM practice will be 100% on the CompuTrainers. The best training comes from both sessions per week, if schedule allows you to join us!

PBC - Summer will meet on Mondays at 6:00pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 530am and Wednesdays at 9am. SBR Coaches will provide 90-120 minutes of outdoor cycling class and 60 minutes of CompuTrainer riding. Raining on Mondays or Wednesdays? We'll stay indoors and work on our skills on the CompuTrainers. However, sometimes we may hit the CompuTrainers to train in a structured, neutral environment.

Pay an additional $100 and get both days per week for the entire summer. 
Pay monthly 1x per week $90 per month, 2x per week $120 per month (first month due to secure pricing).
If you are a full time coached athlete, add on cycling practices for $65 per month.
If you are a full time coached athlete, add swim/bike/run for only $160 per month.

Skills & safety cycling course

Take the fitness you've worked on over the winter to the roads! Join this women's only 4 - week course, coached by women, that will focus on cycling skills and safety on the road. Feel confident to ride on the beautiful county roads with traffic. Practice clipping in and out of pedals, cornering, shifting, group riding and climbing in a safe environment with SBR Coaches at your side.

Coached no-drop cycling class

Ride with the Women Coaches at SBR this summer in a personalized, coached environment. Each week, take on the roads of Southern Wisconsin with confidence. The coached rides are no-drop by design. Each week will have a specific goal for each class, whether it be focusing on proper cadence and perceived effort, or taking on that notorious climb successfully.

With more and more cyclists using technique, efficiency, power and other data methods as a means to train and improve their cycling abilities, the need has clearly developed for performance-based training programs to create structure through the cold winter months.

To help meet this this demand SBR will be offering its 11th indoor season of performance based cycling (PBC) this winter. This unique class will run upon fundamental principles of exercise physiology and biomechanics. 

Our classes are different from the norm. We never bike with you. We are walking around instructing, coaching, teaching, correcting and educating the entire time. We offer individual attention throughout each class. You will be able to focus on you and increase your cycling abilities in a wonderfully friendly, coached setting. Our main goal is quality versus quantity. We keep our class sizes low so our coach to athlete ratio is in good balance to spend as much time with each rider as needed, in each class. 

Things we will work on in each class?  You will begin training by learning how to pedal efficiently and work to the best of your abilities. You will also be training with concepts such as lactate threshold (LT), Functional Threshold Power and RPE (ratings of perceived exertions). The first weeks will include a lot of low intensity cycling, stroke analysis and pedaling efficiency to build a strong base for the months ahead as you move into more strength, speed and power training. Lots of physiology! Lots of learning! This class is for the athlete that is prepared to take the next step with their training, and spend quality time learning about his/her body through the physiological and biomechanical parameters above. Our SBR Coaches will not be working out while you are, they will be focusing on coaching you during your workout for you to get the most. It’s all about you!

The course will meet two session per week on the dates below. You will have an AM, mid-morning or PM option. The classes will require you to use your own road or time trial/triathlete bike. You will be utilizing the CompuTrainer system for all training in the course. The CompuTrainer is a fully equipped system with over 300 course with full data displays such as power, heart rate and speed.

Course time and dates:

Classes start the week of November 7, 2016 and end the week of April 10, 2017.
There will be a limited class schedule during the holidays in December/January.
This is a 24-week course
Each class will be 1-hour in duration

PERFORMANCE BASED CYCLING CLASSES
WEEKENDS

 

We are back for an 11th season of cycling on the weekend! This class is a 90 minute class full of variety. Each week will be something different, working on cycling skills, shifting skills, hill climbing, sprint intervals and more. Each week will be different and is built to be a compliment to our weekly PBC class, as well as that third workout of the week, a longer focused training session, or walk out of class learning something new about yourself and cycling.  

Weekend PBC is designed for everyone in mind. Start with a great warm-up. Enjoy an educated and off-the-bike coached main training set. Then end with a solid cool-down and stretch. We use the CompuTrainers as our training tool. CompuTrainers are load generators that crate the course for you with varying courses and provides valuable data. Come in for the instruction you deserve to make yourself a better cyclist.  Push yourself when and as hard as you want. The class is build for all in mind. SBR Coaches never workout with you. We are there to educate, share knowledge and make sure your form is rock solid, and even get you some water if you need. Our main goal is quality versus quantity. We keep our class sizes low so our coach to athlete ratio is in good balance to spend individual time with each rider, in each class.

Weekend PBC start Saturday, November 12th, 2016 and will continue most to all Saturdays (with exceptions of holidays and special events held at SBR) through end of March. 

There are two class session available each week. Saturdays will be 7am and Sundays will be 9am. SBR doors will open 30 minutes prior to class start for you to set up. 14 CompuTrainer spots are available for each class. Weekends are build for drop-in, or to attend all winter. Whatever works for you. You can pay per class each week, or pay for the entire winter and save!

To join us for class, there is an online registration link provided below. You can pre-register yourself up to a week in advance of class, and there is a 12-hour cancellation policy and the online scheduler will not allow you to cancel. You will be charged if you do not cancel within the cancellation time.

We will have only 4 Saturday cycling classes from November 12th through December 10th.  Two special Saturday rides that are in substitution of our regular classes is our Small Business Saturday ride (details to come shortly) and our yearly Holiday Ride. (Scheduled for November 26th and December 17th, 2016).

WOMEN'S ONLY
CYCLING CLASS
WINTER 2017

Congratulations on your decision to become a cyclist! We will walk you through the steps necessary to build up your knowledge, fitness and confidence so you can be ready for the roads this Spring. This class is designed for women who want to learn the basic skills of riding a bike, shifting, climbing and how to improve fitness. You will ride your own bike in our CompuTrainer studio. The trainers you ride will provide you with real life course riding, which will allow you to learn how to manage your bike, all awhile being safely indoors. Each week you will learn a new thing on your bike or about your bike. You may even get to learn how to change a tire!

Join us for this weekly indoor cycling class.  You will need your own bike, and it needs to be a road bike or time trial/triathlon bike (with slick tires). No mountain bikes.
